WELCOME TO HUNTINGTON VILLAGE LAX!
Club Philosophy: The mission of the Huntington Village Lacrosse Club is to introduce the great game of LACROSSE to our youngsters. This is done by providing instruction, at various levels, of the game’s fundamental skills. Additionally, it is the club’s desire to instill basic values such as: teamwork, sportsmanship, respect for themselves and others, integrity, and confidence, while providing a safe and fun atmosphere conducive to obtaining all of the above.
Intramural League (Grades 1–2): This is an introduction to lacrosse, concentrating on learning and practicing the basic skills of the game. Both boys and girls begin after daylight savings. We generally meet 1 night a week for 8 weeks.
Boys and Girls Nassau County P.A.L. Travel League (Grades 3-6): Designed for the new and experienced player. Generally, teams practice twice per week then play a game on the weekend. There are 8 games; 4 at home and 4 away. Practices begin in March.
Parents Code of Conduct: Huntington Village Lacrosse Club has established the following guidelines that parents, whether they are coaches, volunteers or spectators, shall adhere to:
* Be positive role models, on and off the lacrosse field, showing respect and courtesy for all.
* Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials. * Never encourage any negative behavior such as booing, taunting, profane language or gestures, towards any players, coaches, officials, visitors, or spectators. * Inform the coach of a child’s physical ailments or disabilities that may affect the safety of that child or that of any others.
* Encourage children to do their best, try hard, compete fairly, and most importantly, to have FUN.
* Respect officials and their authority during games.
